(the string that separates the items)
Not what you're looking for?
Try a google search.
If you don't have it already, I seriously recommend you download it and try. It takes up very little memory and performs much better than Internet Explorer.
The items must be separated by a character or string (a series of characters). This is called a delimiter. The bolded character or string in these examples is the delimiter:
1. Plain Old Alphabetical, Horizontal List
Alan Vega, the Arcade Fire, Art of Noise, Arvo Part, B'52, Bad Religion, Big Star, Bill Nelson, Bob Dylan, Brian Eno, Bundu Boys, Camper Van Beethoven, Cat Stevens, the Clash, Cranes, Creatures, Cure, David Byrne, David Guilmour, David Sylvian, Divison Black Wolf, Eric Clapton, Felt, Gary Numan, Genesis, George Harrison, Half Man Biscuit, Heatmiser , Hope Blister, Inspiral Carpets, J.J.Cale, Japan, John Cale, Nirvana, Radiohead, the Sex Pistols, the Smashing Pumpkins
2. A Scrolling Horizontal List
3. A Stationary Vertical List
4. A Scrolling Vertical List

If you want to add to your html list, just continue the pattern.
For the confused, I'd like to eventually create a simple interface for updating lists without any html knowledge. But that won't be coming for a while.
